Main material for eco-friendly electric vehicle batteries
One of the four materials for electric vehicle batteries is exactly the cathode material. Battery foil (copper foil) is a plate material that supports this cathode. The copper foil business, which is the main material for electric vehicle batteries, will continue to grow as the production of electric vehicles is expected to increase and the battery consumption of electric vehicles is expected to increase as the future industry changes to respond to climate change. I expect it to grow significantly.
Korea Zinc will established KZAM in 2020, entered the copper foil business, investing 150 billion won, we will contribute to the expansion of the future value industry by producing 13,000 tons of copper foil annually.

Utilizing Korea Zinc's unique technology of dissolution and electrolysis, we can make our own stable battery foil for secondary batteries.
Korea Zinc is evaluated to be able to bring technological advantages to the copper foil field of similar construction methods, based on its unique technological capabilities and know-how in the existing non-ferrous metal smelting industry. In addition, these technological capabilities are expected to bring superior quality and cost competitiveness. The annual production of copper foil of 13,000 tons is also capable of producing 180,000 electric vehicles equipped with 50kwh batteries.

Dissolving copper raw materials in sulfuric acid to produce copper sulfate solution
Quality Inspection and Packaging Process
Electricity is supplied to the anode drum and the anode to manufacture battery foil with the thickness required by customers through electro-winning electrolysis technology
Heat treatment and slitting process
Heat treatment is performed at the temperature and time set by our company to control the curl quality of battery foil, improving the processability of manufacturing secondary batteries for customers
